Reached Bageshwar on our way to Badrinath
Yesterday we reached Bageshwar on our way to badrinath, which is 79km from Almora by road. We took various shortcuts to reach Bageshwar by end of the THIRD day.
Day 1
Started pilgrimage cum trekking at midday from Manoj Vihar Colony, Khatyari, Almora, walked 13km to reach Deenapani. New thing on day 1 was the experience of staying in a Tent. In the night it rained, the tent was good enough to save us from it. In the night we could hear jackals barking.
Day 2
Walked till Takula, 28km from deenapani by road, took shortcut from kaphar khan to reach ayanr pani and again another shortcut to reach basoli. Stayed overnight in an ashram called Kewal Krishna ashram. It was interesting experience to stay in the ashram. The ashram was still being built. The construction labourers & masons, who work there, are followers of the guru of the ashram. I would say they are the most content labourers we have ever seen. They stay in the ashram as disciples. They start their work at 8am. After full day of work, which is much more than 8 hours, they perform bhajan and kirtan (devotional singing and dancing). And after dinner they watch TV, mostly mythological serials for entertainment. For the 8 hours work, they take regular day wage and rest they work with seva bhav (service for God attitude)

Day 3
Trekked from Takula through mix of shortcut trails & roads going through kangadh china, karas ghat, bilori, chaunna, paldi china, chougaon china, mehal chaura, bilona to reach Bageshwar. It was memorable adventurous trekking that went through breath-taking himalayan view, lush green paddy fields, tropical diverse jungles over mountains adorned with white cloud, varied orchids and flowers. But unfortunately the weather was cloudy and rainy. Hence the photograph that we took with the fixed lens camera could not capture the beauty.

Tomorrow we will proceed to Baijnath.
