Munni Aunty – an “unknown” fellow disciple of Gurudeva
Today I am very happy to realize that my neighboring Aunty, an elderly lady of age around 50, is an “unknown” disciple of Gurudeva – unknown in physical plane but connected spiritually.
Since I arrived here, Munni Aunty has been telling me her spiritual experiences. Many times she had seen some light coming down from sky swirling and entering her body. She used to keep it to her, thinking nobody will understand her. In past, many time some behavior of her made some to think that a Devi has entered her body and she needs to check that with a jhad-phuk wala (the person who chases away evil spirit) but she kept off from doing that.
Post my arrival here, she started experiencing new things. Anytime in between mid-night to early morning she was made to sit for meditation with some invisible jolt (jhatka as she described it). She experienced Kundalini “awakening” (she did not know that, I understood it when she elaborated her experiences). The way she described I understood that it was free flow of Kundalini with less or no blockage. This happened for some days until she made it daily practice to meditate. She started doing some yoga which she said happened automatically to her. Her experience in meditation has been ecstatic.
Today I went to her with my Laptop to explain her what could be happening to her and to give her some knowledge of kundalini awakening from kriyayoga.com site. We had a nice satsang for an hour or more. Post that I told her about God Yoga. As soon as I uttered the mantra from God Yoga, she went to trance. After few minutes once she came back from that state, she said I have heard it before I don’t know from where. Note that she does not speak English, there is no way she could have heard the mantra from a mouth. With deep devotion I kept chanting the mantra, she went into trance. With tears in our eyes and smile in our face we looked each other and enjoyed the moment of bliss and I knew here I found an “unknown” fellow disciple of Gurudeva.
Watching me sitting in lotus posture in a coat in the drawing room she recalled a story. She said several years back some saint on their way to Badrinath, visited her house searching for her saying “yahan kahin ek meri beti rahti hai, hum usse chay pike hi jayenge” (Somewhere here my daughter stays, we will proceed further only after having tea from her). It was very early in the morning, she said “Maharaj I have not taken bath yet”. “The soul is pure, there is no need of bath” – a saint replied. She served tea to them and the saints savoured it. They blessed her and while leaving they exited walking backward, slightly bending over (as if they want to bow – this is my interpretation) until they were off from the scene.

Gopo Bhai,
I had a similar experience, while I was staying at my relative’s house.
My aunty, she was very much god fearing and she used to do Pooja, Vrat etc etc. (While doing pooja, she used to sit hours, eyes closed and chanting GOD, DEVI, DEVTA etc etc.).
So, she used to do meditation, many times in the morning and evening. who was the sufferer?, Me, my cousins ( aunty’s 2 Sons) and off course Uncle. Ultimately, I had to cook in the evening and other used to clean utensils. At last I had to leave their house by Saying ” I have got a room in hostel”. Now, Whats the use of such meditation where a person is not doing his duty well?
Since, my University was very near to aunty’s house, so during lunch break, many times I had to take her to a lady, to whom people used to call MAATA and I could see a huge crowd where people used to come to get rid from ooperi hawa etc. She used to take some prasad, Ghee, Deepak with her.
Whenever there was any “MAATA KA JAGRAN”, my aunty used to behave as if DEVI MAATA has entered into her body and she used to dance when followers used to SING bhajans. I had seen those scenes many times, since my childhood. Many times she used to do some Bhavishya Vaani about people, which never came true.
I started calling her “MAATA” instead of aunty. She likes that word.
Now, going through the story of MUNNI AUNTY
“Many times she had seen some light coming down from sky swirling and entering her body”
There is not light coming and entering into her body. Its just an imagination by her. Our half awaken mind sees dreams and it seems to be a reality.
SECOND Case:
“Post my arrival here, she started experiencing new things. Anytime in between mid-night to early morning she was made to sit for meditation with some invisible jolt (jhatka as she described it). She experienced Kundalini “awakening” (she did not know that, I understood it when she elaborated her experiences). ”
So, as you arrived in Almora, she got Kundilini Jagran, great!!! Now you might be having a thinking that your GURUDEV or GOD might have send a Jhatka from abroad spiritualy to her as you are there and she has got that feeling.
Seems, as if the lady has got a good imagination power, and she might be watching such moving of GOD awakening her to do yogasan. There is story in Haryanavi about 4 friend, whoever will wake up earlky in the morning will eat KHEER, where Hanuman bhakt didn’t sleep and when all others were sleeping, he ate-up entire KHEER and in the morning he told, Hanuman Ji woke me up and asked me to eat the KHEER. MUNNI aunty’s story is like that only, she might be having interest in YOGA, in day time she might not be able to fo it, due to some or other reason and night time she might have got a dream and would have got up. We get such Jhatka’s many times due to bad-dreams or good dreams.
Regarding, tea-story of MUNNI AUNTY, its a general thing.. Come to Haryana / Rajasthan, you will find so many DERAs of such sadhus, they will leave the dera in the morning, will goto many villages for bhiksha and they will say you similar things,
They needed tea and your aunty thought, they came searching her. whoever offers tea, they will take from.
We had shifted to a city, 3 years back, before that, we were staying in a village, since my father had told my mother when they got married, “Koi bhookha hamare ghar se bhookha nahi jaana chahiye”, so my home was famous in the village, whenever any begger / by-passer used to go to neighbour’s houses for food they used to send them to my house and my mother had heard the similar words from many people( Babas, Beggars, By-passers, Vegetable-Sellers coming to sell onions/potatos from far-away places) like Munni Devi heard from one Baba.
Gopo bhai, the problem, which I see with you is, “Even though you are elder than me but it seems you have less experience of life, you dont know the generic things which happens here in the indian society, you take all those as a special case”
As Goving Sahu said
” You are wasting your valuable time. Please arise and awake….. you are not guided properly by your so called Guru. I some time feel your guru is wasting you..you are blindly following him without analysing anything.”
In india, there are so many famous Gurus, Are they giving anything to country, so that poverty can be removed, India can be a developed country, NO.. they are just wasting the time, money of the people and doing a business. All saints are having good sources of income and that too with out income tax. And people with blind faith will offer lakhs of rupees to there gurus but will not do anything for poor people.
As Gonind Sahu said, Wastage of an intelligent and valuable resource Gopo, is being done by your GURUDEVA.
So come out of this ASAP.. We welcome you to our so called “HELL”, which is a mixture of good and bad things.

Your “bad” experiences is yours to learn from !!!
Of course there are TRUE saints
But you meet them if you really deserve their presence and guidance with your righteous Karma
You had “bad” experiences on people following spirituality, it does not mean everybody will have same!!!
A TRUE spiritual person is always GOD loving and NEVER God fearing…
Your criteria of judging a spiritual person or saint always has been WRONG
The time one spends in Puja, Archana, Jagarana, Vrata etc. is completely wrong criteria to look for, if you are looking for spiritual person !!!
If poverty is a problem that you want to see get resolved then you start doing something about it
Then you might realize a TRUTH
Don’t expect that to be solved by a saint
Saints are there for a purpose much higher than that..
May be poverty is there to open up hearts of people to learn to help others
May be the people in poverty have something to learn out of it
My advise to you is that first complete things that you think is correct to your FULL capacity

Gopo bhai,
Thanks for the advice.
[May be the people in poverty have something to learn out of it]
Gopo bhai, if you will continue to be in the business of working as labourer, leaving your bank balance and familiy support behind, definitely you will be part of “people in poverty” and then your words “something to learn out of it” will be very much helpful for the poor people to come out of POVERTY because you are an intelligent person, I hope you will definitely find something which will help poor people to come out of poverty.
It seems my reply to your post has irritated you, thats why you have written my experiences as “BAD” experiences, but for me it was a “GOOD” experience, I had learnt a lot from the stay at my relative’s house, which can be useful throughout my life. [Its a kind of "Moral of Story"]
[Your criteria of judging a spiritual person or saint always has been WRONG]
In my reply, I haven’t written anything about a spiritual person or saint, Only about famous gurus, I never called them as spiritual person or guru, I wrote about what they are doing and all.
Regarding Poverty:
[Don’t expect that to be solved by a saint
Saints are there for a purpose much higher than that..]
BTW, what is that “SPECIAL PURPOSE ” which higher than the help of mankind?
A good link for all:

I hope you will not get irritated with this post…

Satish,
In Writing if the author wants to give some other meaning of a WORD than the literal meaning, he puts it in quotes. You most have noticed that I have put ‘bad’ in quotes.
Experience always makes us wiser. But if one experience made you close to receive certain things for time being then I would call that “bad”.
Find out one saints in past who dedicated his life for poverty eradication.
:)
If you find one then you may want to follow him. Else find out what all they did in their life
