Pilgrimage cum trekking to Badrinath from Almora
It’s been some time, especially after coming from Philippines, I was not satisfied with the effort I have been putting up to progress spiritually in the path of love to God. Working as labourer is most important for me spiritually but not enough. But I was somehow missing the power to kick the lazy EGO to put the extra that’s required.
I was browsing through Kriyayoga.com with a hope to find a solution for it. There I stumbled upon the Pilgrimage page.
“Pilgrimage definition = Walking a long distance to a sacred site or holy location far away with God and Love in mind. Waling in any whether, any condition, any geographical or topographical hazards. Always walking toward your goal, step after step, day after day until goal successfully and smiling reached…. A true pilgrimage always is a walking pilgrimage”
Immediately after reading the chapter, I decided to make walking Pilgrimage to Badrinath. Pushkar and Kavita immediately agreed to join me. So here we are starting from tomorrow i.e. Sept 02 2009 a pilgrimage cum trekking to Badrinath from Almora. From there we are planning to trek till Phoolon ki Ghati and back.
The total distance would be some 320 plus Kms. We have chosen the route: Almora->Takula->Bageshwar->Baijnath->Gwaldam->Lohanjung->Mundoli->Bedni Bugyal->Roopkund->Wan->Ghat->Curzon Trail->Kuwari Khal->Auli->Joshimath->Badrinath. From the google map below you can see that Gwaldam to Auli the journey is mostly through trails and country side roads.
