Self evaluation of my performance in labour work till date

When I was in software job, beside self-evaluation managers used to evaluate me on performance each six months. And after evaluation, there used to be pay increments. However there will not be increment this time.

On 23rd April I completed 10 months. God is my only manager now. He would have done his evaluation. Allow me to evaluate myself.

Out of ten months, I would have worked max 7 months. Approx one and half months, I would have spent in site activity or CssWing full time.

Initially it was too tough for me. Now too, it’s tough but ok. I can carry more weights, I can continue working longer and harder, I can use different tools better, however the look remains the same. My roommate says I still look weak. Recently when we did a small trekking to nearby place, I realized I still have the old knee problem. It’s sign for me that I am still far from what I need to be.

Many days I could and should have gone for work but I cheated with some or other excuse.

The time passes very slow during labour work. Because of that I got habituated (I would not say addicted) to gutka (tobacco) from my co-workers. I realized the problems with it and left it slowly.

Initially I used to avoid tough work. Later though, thanks to a lazy co-worker, I corrected it and proactively took tough work. My dedication to work used to depend on some factor, won’t be right to discuss those here.

Self rating: 7/10 (Satisfactory)

I just wonder how could you get into the habit of taking Gutka?????? Its good to know that you got rid of it, however just wondering you have left everything that we thought would been better for you thinking that you are taking the RIGHT GOOD decision and is being guided by your Gurudeva then how did this happen to you? Was that a practical experience from Gurudeva? Taste the bad to know the badness of it? Or your mind got weak at point of time?

No, it was no practical experience from Gurudeva. Read the article on repercussion of any kind of drug spirituality
It was my decision and I never repent for it. Now I understand very well those who have this habit and when I advise them to leave it, it has a higher impact because I have done it myself.

I believe what you DO or DON’T should always be based on wisdom and never on cultural or parental or religious rules in your mind and wisdom results from such experiences.

Cultural, parental and religious rules (Not all but most) are like coding guidelines in software. As per your suggestion one should first commit blunders, then learn from it. Is it necessary to burn our fingers before you can tell others that fire really burns? On the same lines a heart surgeon must first eat enuf junk to get his arteries clogged and only then he will be able to cure his patients effectively?

I agree blind faith is wrong, but I dont see any blindness is following rules like guthka and tobacco are harmful and must be avoided. Remember people who take the spiritual path has much more responsibility than common people like us. U make take up a habit and then leave it, because of ur strong will but others who may follow you may find it difficult.

    My 2 cents.

I agree that if one knows that something would be a mistake then he should avoid making the mistake. Mistakes are sometime very expensive.
