Almora – the town of laborers
I could not have come to a better place to work as laborer than Almora.
Almora, though does not attract many tourists, it attracts many laborers from UP, Bihar and Nepal. It being a town inhabited in hills, there are only few roads. Most houses are far from road where any vehicle could drop one and his heavy things to his house. Hence laborers are the only option to carry your heavy stuff from one place to another.
Again, for any construction work and if it is not happening beside a road, then the materials like brick, cement, sands, stones, iron rod etc. also need to be shifted to the location of construction.

These are the reason why you have lots of work for laborers in Almora. You see laborers everywhere, if you buy something heavy, just look around most likely you will find a Mate (Nepali laborer) who can take your stuff home.
